Bulk edit contacts

Start at your contacts page and apply any applicable filters you need to isolate just the contacts you need to edit.

Select the contacts you need to update. You can do this by clicking the checkbox for each contact, or click Select All from the right sidebar.

After you've made your selection, click Bulk Edit from the right sidebar.

Select which field you want to update from the dropdown. The order of options will be Archive, Communication Preferences, Contact Type, and then any Custom Fields you have set up (that are set as Type: Select only).

If the selection you make requires a secondary selection (e.g. Communication Preferences, Contact Type, or Custom Fields), you will be asked the secondary identifying question.

Shown below is an example of selecting Contact Type from the dropdown, showing a subsequent dropdown.

A confirmation message will appear on the screen letting you know the changes you made have begun processing.

The number of contacts you updated will impact how long it takes for the new values to be filterable. I.e. updating 25,000 contacts versus 250 contacts will have very different turnaround times.
