Change the From Address by Adding DKIM and SPF records to GoDaddy
Kindful supports custom sender addresses from your domain. To enable this feature, you must configure DNS settings so Kindful can send signed emails on your behalf.
To begin, you must contact Kindful support to obtain the required SPF and DKIM records for your account and to confirm ownership of the domain. Then follow these steps:
1. Log into your GoDaddy account.
2. From the “My Accounts” page, find the domain you are setting up and click “Manage DNS.”
3. Under Records, scroll down to the bottom and click “Add”.
4a. If you do NOT have an SPF record yet, add a new entry for the SPF record:
4b. If you DO have an existing SPF record, you MUST NOT add another SPF record. Update the existing record with "include:spf.mandrillapp.com" (before the last operator, which is usually ?all, ~all, or -all):Of Note: Make sure to review any other sources that you may send email from and add them to your SPF record. For instance, if you use Google Apps you would also have include:_spf.google.com in your SPF record. Failure to do so will break your Google Apps email.
5. Confirm domain ownership and DNS configuration and let Kindful know so we can enable custom sender addresses.
DKIM and SPF records
There are values that must be inserted in each record for your domain. Please contact Kindful Support to get the correct values to insert into your setup if needed.
Troubleshooting
Check your SPF configuration with an SPF validator. Enter your domain name in the first text box and click Get SPF Record (if any) for a diagnostic of your SPF records.
If you already have an SPF record, update the existing record instead of adding a new one. The specification for SPF records requires that there only be one TXT record for SPF.Check your DKIM configuration using the DKIMCore validator. Enter mandrill as the selector and your domain name.
In some cases, you may have to wait a few hours for changes to take effect. DNS takes time to propagate.
